What is an ultradian cycle?

An ultradian cycle typically lasts between 90 and 120 minutes. During this period, our concentration and performance gradually increase until they reach a peak, before naturally declining. After this peak, our body sends us signals: yawning, reduced attention, the urge to move or take deep breaths. This is the perfect time to take a short break.

 

Why pay attention to these signals?

We often fight against these small dips in energy by drinking coffee or forcing ourselves to stay focused. However, honoring these moments of rest actually boosts productivity, reduces stress, and promotes better sleep at night.
