What is the square 65 × 65 cm format good for?
65 × 65 cm is the larger of the two square Zizzz formats and offers a little more surface than 60 × 60 cm. If you are used to a square pillow, or already own bed linen in this size, this is the one.
Whether a square or a rectangular pillow suits you better depends mostly on your sleeping habits, the space available in the bed and the bed linen you already have.
If you prefer a more compact square format, there is 60 × 60 cm; if you would rather sleep on a rectangle, 50 × 70 cm. We have set rectangular and square side by side here.
For side sleepers, pillow height and support matter most; the surface is more a question of personal preference. The Swisswool pillow is the flexible one here, because its height changes as you remove or add wool balls. Goose down or duck down in 65 × 65 cm?
Both down pillows have the same composition: 85 % feathers and 15 % down, DOWNPASS and NOMITE certified, with a cover in organic cotton batiste. The difference lies in the species, the origin and processing of the filling, the fill weight and the feel.
The goose down pillow is made in Canton Bern and contains 600 g of goose feathers and down. Of the three Zizzz pillows in 65 × 65 cm it feels particularly soft and plump.
The duck down pillow is made in the Black Forest and contains 880 g of duck feathers and down. It feels soft and yielding, but lies a little more compactly than the goose down pillow.
What are the 65 × 65 cm pillows made of?

How do I wash a 65 × 65 cm pillow?
Wool pillow: take out the inner pillow and wash the outer shell, which is quilted with a layer of Swisswool, at 30 °C on the wool cycle. The inner pillow with the wool balls does not need to be washed in normal use; airing it regularly is usually enough. Drying without a tumble dryer is covered in our five-step guide.
Both down pillows: machine washable at 60 °C. What matters is that the filling dries all the way through before you use the pillow again. If the care label allows a tumble dryer, a few clean dryer or tennis balls help to loosen the filling up again.
Which pillowcase do I need for a 65 × 65 cm pillow?
A pillowcase in the same format. A 60 × 60 cm cover does not fit a 65 × 65 cm pillow, so check the size before you buy.

Both down pillows carry the NOMITE label. The densely woven cotton batiste forms a barrier against dust mites. The wool pillow carries no corresponding allergy certification. Wool does, however, regulate moisture and can thereby contribute to a microclimate that is less favourable to dust mites.
