A percale pillowcase wraps your pillow in a tightly woven plain-weave fabric: smooth, matte and cool against your face. At Zizzz, it comes in 65 × 100, 65 × 65, 60 × 90, 50 × 70, 60 × 60 and 40 × 60 cm, in GOTS-certified organic cotton, with an envelope closure. It is made in Portugal.
Choose the pillowcase according to the size of your pillow. For a 65 × 65 cm pillow, take a 65 × 65 cm pillowcase.
Which pillowcase size should I choose?
In Switzerland, the large traditional rectangular pillow measures 65 × 100 cm; 65 × 65 cm and 60 × 90 cm are also very common. Each size has its own page with all available designs.

The envelope closure
Our percale pillowcases close with an inner flap, known as an envelope closure: the pillow slides into the case and the flap holds it in place. No zip or buttons against your face, and nothing that can snag in the wash.
Colours and designs
Our percale pillowcases are two-tone and reversible: white and grey, white and beige, grey and beige, white and teal, beige and teal, grey and teal. There are also designs in white with beige or navy trim. These are the same combinations as our percale duvet covers. Not every size is available in every colour: the available choice is shown on each size page.
Percale in brief
Percale is a tightly woven plain weave with 220 threads (TC) and a fabric weight of 132 g/m². The fabric is cool, fine and matte, lets air through and gets softer with every wash. TC (thread count) is the number of warp and weft threads per square inch (6.45 cm²) of fabric. Care: washing, drying, ironing
Percale can be washed at up to 60 °C. Usually there's no need to iron: hang the pillowcase up after a good shake, or put it back on the pillow straight out of the dryer.

Which pillowcase size should I choose?
The one that matches your pillow. In Switzerland, 65 × 100 cm is the large traditional rectangular pillow and 65 × 65 cm a common large square size; 60 × 90 cm is also common in Switzerland and widely offered in French-speaking Switzerland. If in doubt, measure your pillow lying flat.
What is the difference between a 65 × 65 and a 65 × 100 pillowcase?
The width is the same, but the 65 × 100 cm pillowcase is longer: it fits the large traditional rectangular pillow in Switzerland. 65 × 65 cm is a large square size.
How does an envelope closure work?
An inner flap holds the pillow in place. There is no zip and no buttons, so nothing hard presses against your face.
Do the pillowcases match the duvet covers?
Yes: our percale pillowcases come in the same colour combinations as our percale duvet covers, in the same fabric.
Can I wash a percale pillowcase at 60 °C?
Yes. Percale is machine washable up to 60 °C and gets a little softer with every wash.
Is percale pleasant against the face?
Yes. Its tight, matte weave stays cool to the touch and lets air through, which makes it particularly pleasant if you get warm at night.
