A percale pillowcase wraps your pillow in a tightly woven plain-weave fabric: smooth, matte and cool against your face. At Zizzz it comes in the Swiss sizes 65 × 65 and 65 × 100 cm as well as 40 × 60, 50 × 70, 60 × 60, 60 × 90 and 80 × 80 cm, in GOTS-certified organic cotton and with an envelope closure.
Choose the pillowcase by the size of your pillow. For a 65 × 65 cm pillow, pick a 65 × 65 cm pillowcase.
Which pillowcase size do you need?
In Switzerland the most common pillows measure 65 × 65 cm or 65 × 100 cm – sizes that are rarely found elsewhere. Each size has its own page with all available colours.

The envelope closure
Our percale pillowcases close with an inner flap, known as an envelope or housewife closure: the pillow slides in and the flap holds it in place. No zip or buttons against your face, and nothing to snag in the wash.
Colours and designs
Our percale pillowcases are two-tone and reversible: white and grey, white and beige, beige and grey, white and teal, beige and teal, and grey and teal – plus two white models with a trim, in beige or navy blue. They match the colours of our percale duvet covers. Not every size comes in every colour; the selection is shown on each size page.
Percale in brief
Percale is a tight plain weave with a 220 thread count. The fabric feels crisp, fine and matte, lets air through and softens with every wash. Everything about the weave, the comparison with satin and GOTS certification is on our percale bedding page.
Care: washing, drying, ironing
Percale can be washed at up to 60 °C. Ironing is usually unnecessary: hang the pillowcase well shaken out, or put it straight back on the pillow from the dryer.

Which pillowcase size do I need?
The size of your pillow. In Switzerland the most common sizes are 65 × 65 cm (square) and 65 × 100 cm (long). If in doubt, measure your pillow lying flat.
What is the difference between 65 × 65 and 65 × 100?
The width is the same, but the 65 × 100 cm pillowcase is longer: it fits rectangular pillows placed across the bed. 65 × 65 cm is the classic square size.
How does an envelope pillowcase close?
With an inner flap that holds the pillow in place. There is no zip and there are no buttons, so nothing hard against your face.
Is a pillow cover the same as a pillowcase?
Yes. Pillow cover and pillowcase are two names for the same thing: the removable fabric cover for your pillow.
Do the pillowcases match the duvet covers?
Yes: our percale pillowcases come in the same colour combinations as our percale duvet covers, in the same fabric.
Can I wash a percale pillowcase at 60 °C?
Yes. Percale is machine washable at up to 60 °C and softens with every wash.
Is percale pleasant against the face?
Yes. Its tight, matte weave stays cool to the touch and lets air through, which makes it particularly pleasant if you sleep warm.
