A satin duvet cover is a cover made of cotton satin, with a smooth, soft surface and a subtle sheen. Zizzz makes satin duvet covers in organic cotton in six sizes from 100 × 135 to 240 × 240 cm – in undyed ecru and with the Lucky Star design. All are made in Portugal.

The cover follows the size of your duvet, not the size of the bed. Measure your duvet or check the size on its label.

Zip or flap?
The ecru duvet covers in 140 × 200, 160 × 210, 200 × 210 and 240 × 240 cm close with a zip. The children's sizes 100 × 135 and 140 × 170 cm and the Lucky Star models have a flap: a folded-in fabric pocket at the end of the cover that holds the duvet in place without a zip.
The zip closes the cover completely. The flap has no metal parts and makes the cover particularly quick to put on. Both versions are washable at 60 °C.
Ecru or Lucky Star?
Most models are undyed: ecru is the natural colour of cotton. For the Lucky Star design, stars are printed on the same undyed cotton satin. It is a more playful alternative to plain ecru and also comes in children's sizes: in 100 × 135, 140 × 170, 140 × 200 and 160 × 210 cm.
Satin in brief
Satin is a weave: in a satin weave, a great many threads lie on the surface, which makes the fabric smooth and slightly lustrous. Our cotton satin is made of certified organic cotton, with 276 TC and 120 g/m² – neither silk nor synthetic fibre. TC (thread count) is the number of warp and weft threads per square inch (6.45 cm²) of fabric. Satin or percale?
Satin feels smoother and more enveloping. If you prefer a crisp, airy feel or sweat a lot at night, you will often find percale duvet covers more comfortable – they are made of GOTS-certified organic cotton and come in several colours and in sizes from 100 × 135 to 240 × 260 cm.

Care
Wash satin duvet covers at up to 60 °C. On models with a zip, close it before washing. Satin is comparatively easy to iron; hung up after a good shake, it often needs less ironing.

In Switzerland, 160 × 210 cm for a single duvet and 200 × 210 cm for a double duvet are the most common. What counts is always the size of your duvet. Our satin duvet covers come in sizes from 100 × 135 to 240 × 240 cm.
How do the satin duvet covers close?
The ecru duvet covers in 140 × 200, 160 × 210, 200 × 210 and 240 × 240 cm have a zip. The children's sizes 100 × 135 and 140 × 170 cm and the Lucky Star models close with a flap.
Are there satin duvet covers in 240 × 260 cm?
No. We only make 240 × 260 cm in percale – see duvet covers 240 × 260 cm.
Are there satin duvet covers for children's beds?
Yes, in 100 × 135 and 140 × 170 cm, in undyed ecru or with the Lucky Star design, always with a flap. The Lucky Star design also comes in 140 × 200 and 160 × 210 cm. You'll find all children's covers under children's duvet covers.
Is a satin duvet cover made of silk?
No. Satin is a weave, not a fibre. Zizzz satin duvet covers are made of organic cotton, not silk. The satin weave is what gives the smooth surface with a subtle sheen.
Do I need to iron a satin duvet cover?
Satin is comparatively easy to iron. If you hang the cover up after a good shake or put it straight back on the duvet from the dryer, it often needs little or no ironing.
