What is special about the 60 × 90 cm pillow format?
60 × 90 cm is a typically Swiss pillow format and is especially common in Suisse romande. While the large 65 × 100 cm format is widespread in German-speaking Switzerland, 60 × 90 cm is one of the traditional pillow sizes of French-speaking Switzerland.
The format is noticeably larger than 50 × 70 cm and a little more compact than 65 × 100 cm. It suits anyone who prefers a generous rectangular pillow, or who already owns bed linen and pillowcases in 60 × 90 cm.
For sleeping comfort, though, the surface of the pillow is only one factor. Pillow height, support, sleeping position and personal preference matter more.
Which 60 × 90 cm pillow for side, back or front sleepers?
The right pillow height depends more on sleeping position, shoulder width and mattress than on the size of the pillow itself. Side sleepers usually need more height, so that the gap between shoulder and head is filled. How do I wash a 60 × 90 cm pillow?
Wool pillow: take out the inner pillow and wash the outer shell, quilted with Swisswool, at 30 °C on the wool cycle. Both down pillows: machine washable at 60 °C. What matters is that the filling dries through completely before you use the pillow again. In this format that is a large quantity of filling, so allow enough time. If the care label permits it, a few clean dryer or tennis balls in the tumble dryer help to loosen the filling again.

Are the 60 × 90 cm pillows suitable for people allergic to house dust?
Both down pillows carry the NOMITE label. The densely woven cotton batiste forms a barrier against house dust mites. The wool pillow carries no corresponding allergy certification. Wool does, however, regulate moisture and can therefore contribute to a microclimate that is less favourable to house dust mites.
