How to get a good night’s sleep while on holiday

Ah, the holidays. Everyone loves them. We enjoy ourselves wherever we go, be it to the beach, the countryside or the snowy mountains. But to be able to enjoy ourselves accordingly, we need a good night’s sleep.

As every parent knows, whether we get our beauty sleep or not at least partially depends on how our children sleep. So, by making sure your kids sleep well, you kill two birds with one stone.

A break from the routine, but not too much of a break

If nothing else, a holiday is meant to be a break from the routine. But how much of a break should you take? The answer likely depends on the age of your child.

Routine is essential for children. Knowing what to expect during the day creates a sense of security and stability. Sleep experts also advise that setting a sleep routine is a crucial part of sleep hygiene.

So, if you’re taking a break from our normal routine, try not to make the break too drastic. But if the change is drastic, the following items can be useful in helping your baby fall asleep while on holiday.

Travel Baby Beds

Baby beds are a good option. But which one is right for you and your baby? The right travel bed must be comfortable for your baby, but also transportable. Whether in the airplane, the train or in your car, the it can’t be too big. In addition, one that’s easy to put together and take apart again saves everyone a lot of headache. Finally, it shouldn’t be too heavy, so that you can carry it with the rest of your baggage.

There are many different types of travel beds, some of which are more appropriate for different types of trips than others. For example, be sure that your travel bed isn’t too big to take on the airplane, otherwise you’ll be having a very short trip!

Baby Sleeping Bags

If a travel baby bed isn’t an option, a baby sleeping bag is a great solution, but only if your baby is already accustomed to sleeping in it. Your baby should be familiar with the feel and smell of the sleeping bag to make the experience of sleeping in a new location less foreign.

Of course, make sure that your sleeping bag has the right thickness – you want a summer sleeping bag in the summer and a thicker one in colder months.

Zizzz’s summer sleeping bags are perfect for warmer temperatures and climes. They’re made from organic cotton and are made in Europe, so they don’t have to travel halfway around the world to get to you and your baby. Likewise, the breathable wool and organic cotton in Zizzz’s four seasons baby sleeping bags regulate your baby’s temperature and ensure that he or she gets a good night’s sleep.

Baby Blankets

A baby blanket can also be an alternative to a baby sleeping bag. Any item brought from home that your baby associates with sleep evokes a feeling of comfort, safety and calm at nighttime. The same is also true during the daytime, since babies don’t just sleep at night.

Like Zizzz baby sleeping bags, Zizzz baby blankets are made from 100% organic cotton. They’re also machine washable, which is useful, as it seems that accidents are especially wont to happen while you’re on holiday!

Snuggle Toys

If your child’s baby sleeping bag or baby blanket aren’t available, the snuggle toy is the last resort. It can’t replace either of the aforementioned items, but it’s still a nice bit of home that you can take with you on vacation.

As you can see, there are many ways that you can help your baby get a good night’s sleep while on holiday, which in turn helps you get a good night’s sleep. With the right travel destination, the right lodging, and the right Zizzz products to help you, nothing can go wrong.
