Why do the down pillows contain 85 % feathers and 15 % down?
Feathers give the pillow support, while down makes it soft and plump. A pillow with a much higher proportion of down would be softer and more yielding. The high proportion of feathers gives the Zizzz pillow more structure and support.
The product names goose down pillow and duck down pillow refer to where the filling comes from, not to a predominant share of down.
What is the difference between feathers and down?
A feather has a firm quill and therefore gives the pillow structure and support. A piece of down has no firm quill; its three-dimensional structure traps a great deal of air and makes the pillow soft and plump.

Both variants have the same composition and the same certifications. The goose filling comes from Eastern Europe and is processed in Canton Bern; of the two Zizzz lines it feels softer and plumper. The duck filling comes from Europe and is processed in the Black Forest; it feels soft and lies a little more compactly.
What does the NOMITE label mean?
NOMITE marks bedding with a down and feather filling that is suitable for people allergic to dust mites. The densely woven cotton batiste acts as a barrier against dust mites. Every Zizzz down pillow carries this label.
What does DOWNPASS certification mean?
DOWNPASS checks the origin and the supply chain of down and feathers. Its zero-tolerance standard excludes live-plucking, and down or feathers from animals kept for foie gras production. The supply chain is checked by independent audits.
Which size do I need?
The down pillow comes in six sizes. Not every size is available in both variants:

How do I wash a down pillow?
The Zizzz down pillows are machine washable at 60 °C. What matters is that the pillow dries all the way through before you use it again. If the care label allows a tumble dryer, a few clean dryer or tennis balls help to loosen the filling up again as it dries.
Shake the pillow out regularly between washes. That loosens the filling, removes dust and brings it back up. Use a pillowcase, and air the pillow from time to time.
Down pillow or wool pillow?
A down pillow yields softly and can be pushed into shape; its height is fixed. The wool pillow with Swisswool can be adjusted in height, because its filling is made of loose wool balls. If you prefer a soft, plump feel, the down pillow is the one. If you want to set the height of the pillow yourself, the wool pillow is the more interesting one. All three fillings are set side by side on the overview of all Zizzz pillows.
Who is a down pillow for?
Particularly suited to people who prefer a soft, yielding pillow, who like to push their pillow into shape, or who care about a natural filling with a traceable origin. For children there are smaller formats — see pillows for children.

Is the down pillow available in 65 × 100 cm?
Yes, in both variants. The goose down pillow 65 × 100 cm is processed in Canton Bern, the duck down pillow 65 × 100 cm in the Black Forest. 65 × 100 cm is the largest Swiss long format.
Are down pillows suitable for people allergic to dust mites?
