18-03-2021Die Decke ist leicht und doch warm und fluffig. Obwohl mein Schlafzimmer ungeheizt ist, reicht sie für mich auch im Winter. Die Hülle ist angenehm fest. Ich habe lange eine fair und nachhaltig produzierte Daunendecke gesucht und bin damit nun sehr zufrieden. -

Why choose a natural down duvet?
Down traps air and forms a light insulating layer, for a warmth-to-weight ratio that synthetic fibres can't match. It's also breathable: unlike polyester, it absorbs body moisture instead of trapping it, which limits that clammy feeling at night. Well cared for, natural down keeps its loft for longer than a synthetic filling, which flattens and needs replacing more often.

Both models share the same composition (90% down, 10% feathers) and the same DownPass and Nomite certifications. The difference lies in the size of the down clusters: larger in goose down, they trap more air and insulate better for the same weight.
What's the difference between down, feathers and plumules?
Down is the fine, stemless insulating cluster that grows beneath a bird's contour feathers; it traps air and has no rigid structure. Feathers, on the other hand, have a central quill, which makes them more durable but also heavier and less insulating for the same weight. Our duvets are made of 90% down and only 10% feathers, which guarantees lightness, loft and comfort, rather than a lower-grade filling made mostly of feathers.
How do you understand fill power (cuin)?
Fill power (cuin, for "cubic inch") measures the volume occupied by a given amount of down once it has lofted. The higher this number, the more air the down traps for a given weight, and the more effective the insulation without added bulk. Our 750 cuin goose down offers a higher warmth-to-weight ratio than our 600 cuin duck down, with both remaining high-quality levels for a natural down duvet.
DownPass and Nomite: what do these certifications guarantee?
DownPass certifies that the down comes from a controlled, traceable supply chain, with regular audits at farms: live-plucking and force-feeding are excluded.
Nomite refers to a cover woven tightly enough to form a barrier against dust mites, which suits people sensitive to them. It isn't a guarantee against all forms of allergy.
