Accordingly, the quality of goose down is higher compared to duck down. Of course, geese are larger than ducks. Goose down flakes are proportionally larger, so their down also provides better insulation.

In the textile industry, down from Eastern European goose or duck breeding is known for its high quality, because the cold climate stimulates the animals to grow thicker, insulating down.
