11-01-2024Unsere Tochter fühlt sich in dem Schlafsack sehr wohl. Er ist jeden Euro wert, den wir dafür ausgegeben haben. Er ist komfortabel lässt sich leicht waschen und die Windeln kann man relativ schnell wechseln dank des praktischen Reißverschluss.

08-02-2023Meine Kleine liebt es im Schlafsack. Sie kann sicher sehr gut drehen im Schlaf. Sie friert seit dem nicht mehr und wir müssen sie nicht mehr voll einpacken. Die Öffnungen sind sehr praktisch und man kann es dem Kind anpassen (Reissverschluss oben oder unten, Knöpfe eng oder locker). Am Stoff selber merkt man, dass es sich nicht nach Massenproduktion anfüllt sondern, dass es Qualität hat und Langlebigkeit. Das war ein sehr wichtiger Punkt bei der Auswahl. Das Geld ist es definitiv wert. Das wohl meines Kindes ist mir wichtig. Auch im Schlaf.

Why choose a wool sleeping bag over polyester?
Most sleeping bags sold on the market are filled with polyester, a synthetic fibre derived from petroleum. Polyester is cheap to produce, but it isn't very breathable: it traps heat and moisture against your baby's skin, which can lead to excessive sweating at night and disrupt sleep.
Our Swisswool filling is made of Swiss sheep's wool (88%) and plant fibres (12%), made machine-washable through a patented process. Wool naturally regulates body temperature: it insulates when it's cold and lets air circulate when it's warmer, while absorbing moisture and releasing it gradually into the air. This keeps your baby dry, without the risk of overheating — one of the recognised risk factors for sudden infant death syndrome.
Wool is also naturally fire-resistant, unlike polyester, which ignites more easily. That's why, since Zizzz was founded, we have never used synthetic filling — only Swiss wool and certified organic cotton.

What temperature should baby's room be at night?
The ideal temperature for a baby's room is generally between 16°C and 20°C (a newborn needs a slightly warmer environment, around 21-22°C in the very first days). Below 16°C, add an extra layer under the sleeping bag, such as organic cotton pyjamas; above 20°C, choose a summer sleeping bag in lightweight cotton rather than the 4-seasons model.
To check whether your baby is too warm, don't rely on their hands (often a little cool in the first months, which is normal) — instead, feel the back of their neck or chest: if the skin is damp, your baby is too covered up.

Each size is available in a 4-seasons version (Swisswool filling) and a summer version (organic cotton only, no filling).

We recommend having two sleeping bags (ideally a 4-seasons model), so you always have a clean one while the other is being washed. Since Swisswool can't go in the tumble dryer, washing can take a little time.

Until what age can my child sleep in a sleeping bag?
There's no age limit: many children continue until age 6. We recommend keeping the sleeping bag until at least age 2, giving your child time to get used to sleeping without the risk of getting cold.
How do I care for my Zizzz sleeping bag?
Machine wash at 30°C on a wool cycle, with a suitable detergent. No tumble drying, unless using a dedicated wool programme.
Does wool feel itchy?
No: our sleeping bags have no irritating label at the neck, a chin guard protects against the zip, and the fabrics are free from harmful substances.
Why don't your sleeping bags have sleeves?
So that air can circulate and prevent your baby from overheating: a body temperature that's too high is linked to a higher risk of sudden infant death syndrome. Instead, dress your baby in extra layers underneath if needed.
Can I use the sleeping bag all year round?
Yes, in homes where the temperature stays between 16°C and 22°C. On very warm days, choose our summer sleeping bag in cotton only.
Do I need to wash the sleeping bag before first use?
No, that's not necessary: we only use organic cotton grown without pesticides, and the fabrics are already washed during production.

What's the difference between Swisswool and merino wool?
Most merino wool sleeping bags only have a thin inner lining, with a thick knitted cotton outer layer. A Zizzz sleeping bag has a soft organic cotton lining on both the inside and outside, with a lightweight, airy Swisswool filling of about 1.5 cm in between.
Why does a sleeping bag support deeper sleep?
Babies quickly associate the sleeping bag with comfortable sleep, which helps them fall asleep faster and build a regular sleep routine — beneficial even for premature and low-birth-weight babies.
Which sleeping bag should I choose for winter?
Two things matter: the right size (so your baby's face is never covered) and a breathable material. We don't recommend down for babies, as it's too insulating and increases the risk of overheating; Swisswool offers a safer balance.
